About Friends of Vancouver Community Library (FOVCL)

Supporting our Vancouver Community Library-- it’s what we do!

Mission Statement

To support the Vancouver Community Library we:

  • Sell used books.
  • Maintain a strong and active membership.
  • Provide financial resources for activities, services, and materials that are not available through library budgets.
  • Provide support for library and community activities.
  • Manage and staff the FOVCL Booknook.
  • Advocate for our library to bring greater awareness and understanding of its vital role.

We will be flexible and responsive to the changing needs of the Vancouver Community Library.

In just a few words, this is what FOVCL is all about.  We along with  dozens of other citizens appreciate our Vancouver Community Library and want to help it live up to its emphasis on “community.”  We are the community and we appreciate all the many offerings available at our marvelous Vancouver Community Library.

We want you and we want your participation, your ideas, your time, your talent, as a FOVCL member.  Join us at our general monthly meetings (2nd Saturday of the month, 10:15 am to 11 am.) and as a volunteer including Booknook, Facebook,  Executive Committee, special events, receptions,  and ad hoc committees.

We work hard; we have fun; we get a lot of satisfaction from interacting with community members, library staff, and program presenters.
